Catering by Georgianna's food chosen by George Clooney movie

Catering by Georgianna impressed the directors of the George Clooney Up in the Air, filming in St. Louis, right from the start, said Maryellen Scheel, owner and chef of the catering company.
In fact, Maryellen first heard about exclusively catering two scenes of the movie after getting a surprise call from Rick Young, director of property management for the movie, just based on her company's Web site alone.
“They called me out of the blue,” Maryellen said. At first, she thought someone was teasing her. But then Rick convinced her that he was serious. He told her he was impressed by her company's excellent food, as well as its beautiful presentation. “He was sold on us before we even talked to him.”
Catering by Georgianna was asked to prepare the food for two scenes in the movie – the rehearsal dinner scene and the wedding dinner scene.
And the arrangements happened quickly. She got the call on March 18, 2009, and the first day of filming was on March 27, 2009; the second was March 30, 2009. The hours were long on both days of shooting. The first day took 10 hours; the second 18. But,despite the long hours of preparation and on the set shooting, everything went by so quickly for Maryellen and her staff. What was happening didn\'t even sink in until after it was all over.
When Maryellen told the original owner of Catering by Georgianna that their food will be in a major motion picture, she cried.
“You've taken the business to another level,” the former owner told Maryellen.
The food featured from Catering by Georgianna includes two complete menus.
The menu for the rehearsal dinner included: mini cheese, pepperoni, sausage and veggie pizzas; cheeseburgers; potato skins; hot wings; Italian salad; and fresh veggies.
The menu for the wedding dinner included: two appetizers - Swedish meatballs and pigs in a blanket; three entrees - chicken in white wine sauce with sautéed mushrooms, beef Stroganoff, and breaded fish with an elite lemon sauce made with Limoncello liqueur and a special berry blend of blueberries, raspberries, cranberries and cherries; red-skinned mashed potatoes and gravy; succotash; and a festive salad with ranch and thousand island dressing.
“And, we would love to make every bride's menu just as special,” Maryellen said.
Oh! In addition to preparing and presenting the food, all of the members of Catering by Georgianna were also asked to be part of the last dance scene for the reception, she said. They not only danced alongside George Clooney, they also got a chance to talk with him.
“Our elbows touched,” Maryellen said. “He's very good looking.”
The movie is currently scheduled to be released February, 2010.
“It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Maryellen said. “It is an honor be to part of St. Louis history.”
